2008 InfraGard Awards

On behalf of the 2008 InfraGard National Awards Committee, we are pleased to announce the 2008 InfraGard National Awards Program. This program recognizes individuals and chapters from the Member Alliances and the FBI that have demonstrated outstanding commitment and dedication to the InfraGard program. The following provides you with an overview of the program.

The first year, 2003, the Linda Franklin Award was established and the second year, 2004, we added the InfraGard Coordinator of the Year Award. In 2005, the InfraGard National Awards Committee expanded the program to include two additional National Awards.

Furthermore, in 2005, at the request of many Chapters and through discussion within the Awards Committee, a local Chapter award guideline/suggestion was created.

The 2008 Awards Program overview is as follows:

  1. Linda Franklin - National Achievement Memorial Award

  2. Coordinator of the Year - 1st, 2nd and 3rd Nationwide

  3. Community Outreach Award
This award is designed to recognize the top three Chapters nationwide for activities that get their communities involved on a business, academic and community level (i.e. those Chapters that go above and beyond getting press placements and push the envelop in raising awareness of their local Chapter as well as the InfraGard program as a whole).

  4. Meeting the Challenge Award
This award is designed to recognize the top three Chapters who have met a specific challenge for the public good as related to InfraGard's mission and who have provided a means for resolution or mitigation of detrimental effect. The intent is to recognize the Chapters that have taken on an initiative that requires additional time, resources, and commitment from the Chapter to achieve a specific goal. For example, a Chapter that conceives and executes a unique initiative locally that can be replicated across multiple Chapters and/or Nationally. This would not include things such as getting incorporated, fundraising for no specific cause, or holding regularly scheduled meetings.

  5. Local InfraGard Spirit Award - This award is designed after the Linda Franklin Award but would be optionally implemented by the local Chapter to provide recognition to an individual within their own Chapter. The concept behind this award is to help local Chapters identify an individual that they then might nominate for the National Linda Franklin Award. Additionally, should a Chapter decide to implement this local award, the recipient would be recognized/announced at Congress once they have received the Award locally.
  6. The 2008 Awards Program Calendar is as follows:
  • Nominations Open: April 15, 2008
  • Nominations Close: May 2, 2008 at 5:00 pm CDT
  • Committee Selection Process Complete: May 5, 2008
  • Announcement of Award Recipient: June 2, 2008 at the 2008 InfraGard
    National Congress

I encourage all of you to get your Chapter involved in the Awards Program! All of the forms your Chapter needs to participate are attached and will also be posted on the National InfraGard website and on the CyberCop Portal. Special thanks to all the members who have volunteered to serve on the National Awards Committee for their active participation and to those who take the time to recognize outstanding contributions of fellow members by submitting nominations.

On behalf of the 2008 InfraGard National Awards Committee

Thank you,
