North Texas InfraGard Chapter

Next Chapter Meeting TBD - 3rd Quarter '08

InfraGard is a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) program which was initiated in the Cleveland Field Division in 1996. It was a local effort to gain support from the information technology industry and academia for the FBI’s investigative efforts in the cyber arena. The program expanded to other FBI Field Offices, and in 1998 the FBI assigned national program responsibility for InfraGard to the former National Infrastructure Protection Center (NIPC) and to the Cyber Division in 2003. InfraGard and the FBI have developed a relationship of trust and credibility in the exchange of information concerning various terrorism, intelligence, criminal, and security matters.

Especially, since September 11, 2001, Infragard has expanded to include aspects of the Nation’s infrastructure beyond it’s computing infrastructure.  The InfraGard of North Texas now consists of infrastructure leadership and members partnered with the FBI for the protection of critical infrastructures, including:

  • Agriculture
  • Banking/Finance
  • Chemical
  • Computer Security
  • Defense
  • Emergency Services
  • Energy
  • Food
  • Postal/Shipping
  • Public Health
  • Transportation
  • Telecommunications
  • Water Supply

Internet Safety Awards

Internet Safety Awards

The Internet Safety Awards seek to promote awareness of potential dangers on the Internet by showcasing video public service announcements (PSAs) produced and directed by North Texas teens.

The North Texas Chapter of Infragard has created a contest that addresses these concerns right where it counts – with our youth!

Through the ISAs we hope to engage youth by utilizing their creativity to develop their own public service announcements. This endeavor provides the opportunity to not only raise awareness amongst the community at large but more importantly, with the youth themselves.

Submission Forms are due November 14, 2008
